On Christmas of 2023, little did Alina know that the birthday gift she had planned for Dom—a trip to Bali in March—would carry any more significance than just spending three blissful weeks on a tropical island with her sweet boy. From very early on in their relationship, Dom had always known in his heart that marrying Alina was an absolute certainty. However, he also knew that when the time came he would want to propose in the most idyllic and perfect of settings because he did not want anything less for his princess. With the prospect of three weeks in paradise with the girl of his dreams, Dom felt there could be no better place to get down on one knee and ask the life-changing question than during their stay in Bali.
In January, he set about his research of the island and started putting together a plan for his proposal. However, the first thing he needed to address was asking for the blessing of her two dads and brother, a task that Dom was nervous about, but considered essential as he’s old-fashioned that way. Once he had all of their approvals, he proceeded to choose a diamond ring that would be worthy of Alina, The Viking Queen (as she likes to call herself! haha). Dom then planned a proposal on the back of Alina’s photoshoot arrangement with her very good friend Ksusha (who is an amazing photographer - the majority of her photos on this website as well as invitations you received, are her magic).
Dom and Ksusha managed to convince Alina that they were simply going along with her request to organize a holiday photoshoot on a beautiful secluded beach at sunset, which was something she had planned herself. Little did Alina know, she had unknowingly set the stage for a day that would alter the course of her life forever, embarking her on a journey to her Vikings Kingdom.
However, little did Dom know that this proposal would come as such a shock to his Viking Queen, as he kneeled on one, catching her by complete surprise as she turned only to wonder with amazement what he was doing. Once it had registered, Dom was holding out in his right hand a sparkling black box, he was met with a silence that quickly was overtaken with repeated outcries of “Oh my God…”, “Oh my God…”, “Oh my God…” to which Dom asked Alina, “Will you marry me?… to which for the record Alina replied “Yes I will…”
With tears of happiness in both their eyes and excitement bubbling in their bellies, they held each other tightly in each other’s arms as they both told each other that they loved each other! As they both realised that this would mark the beginning of a new chapter in their lives, one filled with unconditional love, and commitment, and their wildest of dreams were about to come true.
